Guys Barbecue on Sunday, August 15, 4-7pm

You don’t have to wait until the March Guys Getaway to get together with Centerpointe’s finest! Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the annual Guys BBQ, Sunday, August 15th. Enjoy good food and great fellowship.

Our theme for the evening is Living your Faith. Our special guest speaker is Brent Lokker, founding and Senior Pastor of Blazing Fire Church in Pleasanton. Brent and his wife Suzanne started Blazing Fire Church in 2001 with a singular focus on experiencing the Presence of the Living God. They continue to have a deep desire to be part of the growing revival in this region as heaven touches earth and God’s Kingdom invades our world with love, freedom and healing!

We’ll gather at 4pm and for only $15 per person, you’ll enjoy dinner to include grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, or chicken, potato and green salads, drinks and dessert and enjoy an inspirational message. Please complete the form below to confirm your attendance and help us plan for seating and food.

NTU – New Testament University – First Tuesday of Each Month

You are invited to attend NTU, a class designed to take a deeper look at the Epistles of the New Testament. Each month we explore one Bible book, written as a letter to first century Christians. We study the text, explore its meaning, and then apply the truths we learn to our lives. NTU  is held on the first Tuesday of each month with the classes being offered at 12:00-1:15 pm (bring a brown bag lunch) and repeated  at 7:00-8:15 pm in Centerperk. Feel free to come to either class as your schedule allows.

Christianity and World Religions – Coming later this Summer

The Life Education team will be taking a summer hiatius. When we return, plan to join us for “Christianity and World Religions: Wrestling With Questions People Ask”.

This video-based small-group study explores four major world religions- Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism – and compares the beliefs of each with those of Christianity. This six-week study deals openly and honestly with questions people ask about other religions. As part of the study, author and presenter Adam Hamilton interviews a religious leader from each tradition. He treats the world religions with great respect, recognizing the unique contributions of each.

In examining these major world religions and the beliefs of their followers, the Reverend Hamilton urges us as Christians to build bridges with others so that we might grow in our faith, seek peace in our world, love our neighbor, and find positive ways to share the gospel.
