The Story of God is a five-week series in which we will look at some core truths that permeate the entire Bible. Each week we will study a theological theme and in survey style. Each message will retell the Story of God with an eye to how the theme is an integral part of God’s relationship to you and to all of us.

What We Hope For You
This series is based on several convictions that we pray will deepen your understanding of the Bible and strengthen your walk of faith:
The Bible is worth your time. By studying some of the great themes of Scripture that are woven throughout God’s amazing story, we pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire you to be diligent and consistent in reading and being shaped by the truth of God that is revealed in Scripture.
The Bible, containing the older and newer Covenants is one complete, unified story. As you will see, the themes we study run from the opening pages of Genesis, the first book in the Bible to the concluding pages of Revelation, the last book of the Bible. There is a temptation sometimes to place emphasis on certain texts of Scripture, or to favor the New Testament over the Old Testament. Yet the Bible in its entirety represents the whole counsel of God and we believe you will experience greater wonder and deeper appreciation of God’s story as you see it all fitting together as a whole.
You are in the story! God has written you into his book. By faith you now experience the blessings and the hope of the new covenant instituted by Jesus. And you are called, as a member of God’s household, to be an active agent of the Kingdom of God on earth.
By studying these themes and understanding some of the core truths of God’s story, you will be challenged to ground your faith in the Bible alone.
We want to encourage you to keep away from having a “Belief Blender” type of faith, where like making a smoothie, you pick and choose elements of faith from lots of different sources including the culture and combine them into a “smoothie of religious beliefs” (thanks to Josh Walker, President of Eternity Bible College for that great analogy). God’s Word is all you need for a life of faith and blessing.
