Campus Crusade for Christ was started on the UCLA campus in 1951 by Bill and Vonette Bright. Today it is a worldwide, interdenominational movement on university campuses committed to helping take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. Because this ministry believes that the college age population is more open to the teaching of Christ, Campus Crusade seeks to evangelize a nation's future leaders. Our church contributes to the support of missionaries in a college in East Asia. Partners International works globally to create and grow communities of Christian witness in partnership with God's people in the least Christianized regions of the world.  Partners provide the resources that strengthen and grow the work of local Christians to start churches where none have existed. These local Christians work against all odds, risking persecution, imprisonment and even death. Currently, our church partners with Noah Yattara in witnessing to the Muslims in Timbuktu, Mali, through Partners International. Medical Ambassadors International commits to transforming nations through disease prevention, evangelism and community development. MAU trains and supports national leaders within 56 developing countries to reach and disciple their own people physically and spiritually. Their integrated ministry, Community Health/ Evangelism, serves in God's grace to transform individual lives, lifting communities out of poverty and multiplying this success to entire nations. New Hope International began when Hank Paulson and a small group of dedicated friends started smuggling Bibles into Eastern Europe during the '70's under the noses of atheistic Communist governments. New Hope was originally called Eastern European Bible Mission. Since the break up of the USSR, these countries have welcomed Christian workers even into their public schools!  New Hope publishes church school material, runs youth summer camps and trains youth and family ministry workers. New Hope trains nationals and works through them and their established churches. Barbara York Sargent Johnson grew up in Pleasanton and attended our church during her youth. After her four children were grown, she began a career with Frontier, an organization dedicated to ministry in the Muslim world. Currently Barbara recruits and trains nannies/home school helpers to go overseas and live with missionary families. The trainees assume certain family responsibilities, leaving more time for the parents to spend learning the language and culture and carrying out mission work. Alternative Missions accomplishes the Great Commission through full-time missionaries and short-term participation. Alternative Missions facilitates new ideas, new ministries and provides creative opportunities through pioneering and operating ministry projects in various countries including Honduras, Costa Rica and Mexico.
